I am a respected editor  who has written for leading mainstream magazines, newspapers and digital sites in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom as well as custom and corporate clients.

Today I enjoy assisting clients with communications strategies and generating original ideas and authoritative and engaging content that resonates with their target market. See my blog page for recent examples of content work. You can also see more of my work on authory.com/HelenHawkes

Since beginning my writing career I have authored two books. The first, SOS: Sex, Optimism and Surviving the 21st Century (Harper Collins) was published in Australia and New York. Slow Sydney (Affirm Press) is contained in the National Library system. I was also an AWARD qualified copywriter.

I am also a UNIFAM-qualified counsellor, certified Life Coach, and Food & Wellness Coach. This involves helping clients address diet, sleep, mental health and other lifestyle issues. I apply special expertise to all wellness content including nutrition, fitness, stress management, anxiety and burnout, self-case and more. Wellness is a global US$4.2 trillion industry.

I am fascinated by the new science of epigenetics as well as inspired by thinkers and innovators including Dr Christiane Northrup, Dr Joe Dispenza, Dr Mario Martinez and Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and Dr Rubin Naiman.

Recently I have completed a Professional Certificate in Food & Nutrition Coaching with Nature Care College Sydney. I also hold a Diploma of  Counselling with Uniting Families. I am an executive member of the International Institute of Complementary Therapists, have studied with Wellness Coaching Australia,  and am a member of the American Union of NLP.

Currently I live in Brisbane with my Labrador Edward Bear and dream of holidays at my bach in the far north island of New Zealand.
